• The Vanaver Caravan and Arm-of-the-Sea Theater will team up for two performances of “Into the Light” Saturday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Rosendale Theatre at 408 Main St., Rosendale. This family-friendly performance, first premiered in 2005, brings together the magic of Arm-of-the-Sea Theater’s giant puppets and the celebratory vision of Vanaver Caravan’s world dance repertoire. • The Catskill Glee Club will present its 93rd annual Winter Concert on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church, 310 Main St., Catskill. The club will present a variety of traditional and contemporary seasonal songs. The Glee Club’s guest artist this year will be the Greenville High School’s Select Treble Chorus. The combined choruses will sing G.F. Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” and J. Rutter’s arrangement of “Silent Night.”  An array of home-baked treats and fellowship will follow. A donation of $10 is suggested. The 26-voice male chorus, with members from Greene and surrounding counties has been bringing quality music to the Hudson Valley since 1927.  Doors open at 7:00 pm for the 7:30 pm performance. • St. James United Methodist Church, 29 Pearl St., will have a Cookie Caper and Gift Fair on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Homemade cookies will be sold for $12 per pound. • The Olive Free Library, 4033 state Route 28A, West Shokan, will have its annual Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature, local makers, raffle prizes and homemade cookies for sales. Local artisans and craftspeople will be set up in the library’s Community Room and lower floor to offer unique, handmade goods ranging from embellished denim and holiday ornaments to hand-knit and hand-crocheted scarves and original artwork and more. • The Ashokan Center’s Holiday Craft & Book Faire at  477 Beaverkill Road, Olivebridge is Sunday Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature hand-crafted gifts and shop for children’s books. Participants can make an ornament in the tin shop, make a wood-handle sorghum broom in the broom shop or a fire poker, heart-shaped trivet or plant hanger in the blacksmith shop. The performance hall will offer a large assortment of children’s books on music, nature, history and art. The event will also feature a rustic family photo booth with photographer Ovi Horta, music offerings and food for sale. All craft and food sales benefit the Ashokan Center. • The Phoenicia Playhouse, 10 Church St., continues the TroupEnigma’s production of “World War II Radio Christmas” by Pat Kruis Tellinghusen. This holiday show recreates the experience of attending a recording of a 1940s radio show.  The production runs through Dec. 11, with performances Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20, $18 for seniors and students. • Rhinebeck Reformed Church, 6368 Mill St., Rhinebeck, will have its annual cookie walk sale on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Cordes Hall. There will be more than 40 kinds of homemade holiday cookies. Cookies can be purchased for $11 per pound.
• The High Falls Fire Department hosts its annual holiday food and toy drive Sunday, Dec. 11, from 1-4 p.m. at the High Falls Firehouse at 1 Firehouse Road, High Falls. The event will feature pictures with Santa, hot cocoa or hot coffee and fresh baked cookies. Participants are asked to donate a new unwrapped toy. Donations of hams, turkeys and all trimmings, canned goods, dry goods, juices, personal health and beauty items, baby food and diapers will be collected Gift cards for older teens and monetary donations will also be accepted. All donations benefit the Rondout Valley Food Pantry.

• The Movies with Spirit series will screen the drama “Merry Christmas,” on Saturday, Dec 17, at 7 p.m. at the Rondout Valley United Methodist Church, 25 Schoonmaker Lane, Stone Ridge. The film chronicles the true story of an unofficially declared truce by opposing soldiers in World War I on Christmas Eve 1914. The film is rated PG–13. Attendees over age 12 are asked to contribute $10 a person.
• The Lord’s Acre Project Craft Fair & Bake Sale will take place Saturday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rochester Reformed Church, 5142 U.S. Route 209, Accord. • The Rosendale Theatre, 408 Main St., Rosendale, will screen the 2017 film “Kong: Skull Island” at 3 p.m on Dec. 30. A team of scientists, explorers and soldiers arrive on an uncharted island dominated by prehistoric animal life where Kong is King.
