WARSAW — The Kosciusko Community YMCA recently announced a brand new program for Type 2 diabetics called “What Can I Eat.”
This nutrition-based support program is designed by the American Diabetes Association, fueled by Bento, and will work to help those in the community living with Type 2 diabetes eat their way to better diabetes control.
Throughout the nine-week program, participants will receive a free resource box and groceries that can be used to prepare delicious meals and education on proper meal planning and budgeting. Each participant will also receive hands-on training to better manage blood glucose and work with interactive content to learn to prepare meals.
The What Can I Eat program is free for anyone in the community who is living with Type 2 diabetes, has Internet access, can receive SMS messages and is able to pick up their grocery orders from participating stores.
To register for What Can I Eat, participants must attend a program orientation on Monday, Feb. 13. Participants can attend virtually that day from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. or in-person at the Parkview Warsaw YMCA from 6-7 p.m.
